Photo shoot location in The Hague

A renovated townhouse from 1897 in the centre of The Hague that you do not have to dress. High ceilings, stained glass and real daylight, with a different mood in every room. Indoors, so the weather never ruins your shoot.

Indoors, whatever the weather

Search for a shoot location in The Hague and you will mostly find lists of the beach, the dunes and the Haagse Bos. Beautiful, until it rains or the wind blows your model's hair in every direction. Anyone who plans outdoors in the Netherlands always needs a plan B.

Maisonette 1897 is that plan B, or simply plan A. A townhouse on the Regentesseplein with 148 m² over two floors, 3.30 metre ceilings and eight stained glass windows. Daylight comes in from the east and the west, so you shoot in real light, dry and warm.

You hire the whole house by the hour, garden included. In a single afternoon you can shoot a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a bedroom, two children's rooms, a bathroom and a city garden, plus all the details in between. Nine sets at one address, without moving once.

The kitchen, light and marble

The kitchen with the marble island and windows open to the garden

The kitchen is the lightest room in the house. Windows on two sides, stained glass above them and a marble island you can walk all the way round. In the morning the sun falls across the worktop and the window frames draw bands on the floor.

A gilded mirror, a disco ball on the ceiling and plants by the window give you more than one angle. Shoot a model at the island, a flat lay on the marble or a lifestyle image with the garden behind.

The dining room, 3.30 metres high

The dining room with herringbone parquet, a cast-iron fireplace and a white table

Between the kitchen and the living room is the dining room, with a cast-iron fireplace, herringbone parquet and a plaster ceiling with a rose. With the sliding doors open you look right through the raised ground floor.

The 3.30 metre height gives your frame room to breathe. For a group shot at the table, an editorial with the fireplace behind, or a portrait in the soft light that comes from two sides.

The living room, west light and stained glass

The living room with a white sofa, fireplace and the open sliding doors to the dining room

The living room has two tall stained glass windows, a black fireplace and a long white sofa on a large rug. In the afternoon the room fills with warm west light.

The classic sliding doors with stained glass are a set in their own right. Shoot them open, closed or half open, with a model between them or as a view through to the dining room.

The details, for close-ups

Copper taps on a stone ledge above the bath

A good shoot needs detail shots too. Here you do not have to look for them. Plasterwork with ceiling roses, copper taps, terrazzo, stained glass, a cast-iron fireplace and rugs in every colour.

Place your product on the marble, set it in front of the fireplace or let the light fall on it through the stained glass. The house was renovated in 2025, so everything is beautiful and intact without feeling new.
